SIMPLY GREAT and reasonable price August 8, 2010 KAIFS My Mom saw Skagen I have purchased for my wife and wanted one too. Elegant, great for any occasion and reasonably priced (unlike overpriced Movado pieces).
Love the design, but this watch broke July 20, 2010 Quina Quen I have a Skagen watch myself, one of their titanium ones. Its for about 4 years now and it's still on my wrist, running strong on the original battery. I love the design of their watches, the slick bands, the minimalist faces, and most of all the thin/flat faces that don't make mincemeat of my dress-shirt cuffs like most of the other gaudy monstrosities on the market that look more Fred Flinstone's sun-dial watch. Come to think of it, my band actually broke as well, but the repair process was so hassle-free that I had almost forgot about it. Sent it into their warehouse in NV and had it back on my wrist in about a week.
That being said, I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she loved it for about 3 months. Then it broke. The tiny metal clasp either bent so that it's now straight and won't hook or it completely broke off, we can't tell.
Skagen won't fix it without 25 bucks for a new band. The watch isn't THAT nice. My wife has since bought another watch from fossil that she likes and that's still going strong.
So I guess this review is kind of bitter-sweet. Love the design, hate the build quality of the band, and customer repair service is hit or miss.
Love, love, love this pretty watch, but... June 27, 2010 H. Gerhardt (Texas, USA) This watch is so beautiful and everything I was looking for. I know it would be perfect for everyday wear as well as dress up wear. The mesh band is gorgeous on the wrist and the crystal number indicators are beautiful.
My problem is the clasp. I've tried every which way to adjust it. The instructions are as simple as they come, there is no way you can misunderstand how to make the adjustments...Lift, Shift, Press. That being said, mine will not press down and lock into place. I'm made sure that the clasp is in one of the indentions on the back and still it will not lock. I'm so beyond bummed out! I've messed around with it 3 times now, setting it down and walking away in frustration, hoping next time I might hit the magic lock. I haven't even been able to wear it :(
Unfortunately, I'll be sending this back, but with reluctance because of how much I like the watch.
Love this watch June 12, 2010 A. M. Doyle (Cincinnati, OH USA) I've had my watch for a couple years now. It keeps good time, but I mostly bought it for the thin profile. I like that it doesn't get snagged on my sleeve. I also love that the band can be adjusted to fit my wrist and I didn't have to worry about taking out links or making new holes ina leather band.
Great watch May 20, 2010 Jill (New Zealand) I really love the look of this watch and it is very comfortable to wear. Only issue I have is that if you open the catch from the top instead of the bottom it releases instantly instead of releasing in two stages - a problem if you are not expecting it.
I would certainly recommend this watch as it looks outstanding and price is fair.
